The ability to grow and succeed as a firm is a direct function of the technical expertise we develop within, as well as the external client and business partnerships that we cultivate.  As such, the Director of Technical Practices is responsible for keeping their group's technical proficiency at the forefront of their client and business relationships in order to market our innovative project delivery methods. This position is highly visible both within and outside the firm.  Additional responsibilities include: Lead the growth of SBU technical practice teams through the continued advancement of technical capabilities, with a focus on project / program delivery. Lead quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC) process for aligned Technical Practices. Drive positioning of the firm as a market leader. Collaborate with BDL and CMs/Sales Leads on pricing strategy and technical approach. Lead SBU technical practice efforts to maintain cutting-edge technical capabilities and deliver innovative solutions on projects. Identify technical practice growth areas for the SBU across our Geographies and Markets, and coordinate with company leadership on planned hires/investments to provide expanded service offerings. Collaborate with Practice Leaders, Business Development Leaders, Client Managers, and key senior sales and technical staff to identify major opportunities, new clients, and support Go/ No-Go, proposals, and support large account and regional sales processes within in applicable technical service bundles/practice areas. Provide technical direction, insight, and support to strategic, direction-related SBU marketing campaigns with a focus on technical differentiation and intellectual property development. Increase W&C visibility through prioritization of, active participation in, and recommendations for sponsorship of professional organizations. Provide leadership in the coordination of the SBU's participation in conferences.  Prepare and present papers to maintain reputation as a leader in the various technical practices and to assist in enhancing W&C's brand. What you need to succeed: Minimum of 15years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the execution and management in the marketplace. Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or engineering or related field from accredited program. MSpreferred. Broad experience in the environmental and/or engineering consulting business including experience in project management and technical project execution. Demonstrated track record of large project / program management. Identify, lead, and participate in business development and bid and proposal efforts. Strong desire to grow an organization and the ability to motivate others. Network of potential professional teaming partners, specialty sub-consultants, and industry experts; excellent reputation within the industry. Understanding of the business development cycle related specifically to the consulting business, including campaign management, proposal writing and development, and development of oral interview strategy and materials. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
